Gold Coast Kitchen Renovation Timeline: Our 4-Phase Process

Gold Coast Kitchen Renovation Timeline: Our 4-Phase Process

One of the first questions we hear is, “How long will my kitchen renovation take?” It’s a big project, and knowing the timeline helps you plan your life around the work.

For most of the new kitchens on the Gold Coast we build, a full renovation takes 8 to 12 weeks. This covers everything from design approval to the final handover. A predictable schedule is no accident. It’s the result of a clear, organised process we’ve refined over years of building quality Gold Coast kitchens.

This guide breaks down our process, showing you exactly what to expect at every stage.

What Influences Your Renovation Timeline?

While 8–12 weeks is a reliable guide, a few factors can affect the total duration:

  • Scope of Work: Replacing cabinetry is faster than a project involving structural changes like removing a wall or moving plumbing.
  • Material Lead Times: Custom-ordered benchtops or specific tiles have longer lead times than locally stocked materials.
  • Coordinating Trades: Our managed process handles all plumbers, electricians, and installers for you. This prevents delays common in self-managed or DIY kitchens.

The Pinnacle Kitchens 4-Phase Renovation Process

We structure every Gold Coast kitchen renovation into four clear phases. This ensures good communication, tight quality control, and a timeline you can count on.

Phase 1: Design & Planning (1–3 Weeks)

This is where we design a kitchen that fits your home, family, and cooking style. The foundation of the project happens here.

1. Initial Consultation
The journey begins when you Visit our Gold Coast kitchen showroom or book a free in-home design appointment. We talk about your needs, ideas, and the practicalities of your space. To get the most from this chat, it helps to bring:

  • A rough sketch or dimensions of your current kitchen.
  • A list of appliances you plan to keep or buy.
  • Inspiration photos of styles you love, from classic country to sleek, minimalist kitchens.

2. Concept Design & 3D Renders
Our designers use your brief to create a concept and bring it to life with 3D rendered drawings. This tool helps you see the layout, colours, and finishes before anything is built, so you can make confident decisions and avoid costly changes later.

3. Final Selections & Quote
Next, you’ll choose your finishes for cabinetry, benchtops, and handles. We guide you through the options, explaining the durability and maintenance of each choice, including ideas for modern kitchen designs. Once every detail is finalised, we provide a detailed, fixed-price quote with no surprises.

Phase 2: Site Measure & Manufacturing (4–6 Weeks)

Precision is critical. Before production starts, our project manager does a final, detailed site measure. This professional check confirms every dimension and service location, ensuring your custom cabinetry fits perfectly.

With measurements locked in, your kitchen is manufactured right here in South East Queensland. Crafting high-quality, custom joinery takes time. This is often the quietest period for you, as all the work happens in our factory.

Phase 3: Removal & Installation (1–2 Weeks)

This is the most exciting phase, where your new kitchen takes shape. The on-site work is carefully scheduled to minimise disruption.

  1. Old Kitchen Removal: Our team dismantles and removes your old kitchen. We coordinate with our licensed trades to safely disconnect all services.
  2. Cabinetry Installation: The new cabinets are delivered and installed by our in-house team of licensed installers, which usually takes just a few days.
  3. Stone Benchtop Template & Install: If you've chosen stone, the stonemason creates a precise template from the new cabinets. The stone is cut off-site, which typically takes 7-10 working days.
  4. Trade Fit-Out: While the stone is prepared, our trades 'rough-in' any new wiring and plumbing. Once the benchtop is installed, they return to connect your sink, tap, and appliances.
  5. Final Touches: The last step is installing the splashback. Finally, we fit all handles and kickboards to complete the look.

Phase 4: Quality Check & Handover (1 Day)

After all work is complete, we conduct a final quality check with you. We walk through the space together, inspect every detail, and ensure you are completely happy before we hand over your beautiful new kitchen.

Managed Process vs. DIY Kitchens: A Timeline Comparison

Some homeowners consider DIY kitchens to save money. But managing trades and schedules can become a stressful job where one mistake causes expensive delays.

Aspect Pinnacle Kitchens (Managed Process) DIY Kitchens (Self-Managed)
Trades We schedule and manage all licensed plumbers, electricians, and installers. You find, book, and coordinate all trades yourself.
Timeline A clear, structured schedule with one point of contact. Prone to delays if one trade is late, affecting all others.
Measurements We take full responsibility for the final site measure to ensure a perfect fit. An error in your measurements can be costly and difficult to fix.
Problem Solving Our experienced team resolves any unexpected site issues that arise. You must solve problems like hidden pipes or uneven walls on your own.

Choosing a professional, managed process shows you why Pinnacle Kitchens is the right choice for your renovation. It gives you peace of mind and a single point of accountability.

Start Your Kitchen Journey with Confidence

A structured timeline is the key to a stress-free renovation. It ensures quality at every stage and delivers a functional, beautiful kitchen built to last.
